Just finished another track for Talking to the Trees – it’s called Winter Sun. This one’s all about those fleeting moments when winter light dances through our world. 🌞

I recorded it on the rooftop of a hotel we stayed at during the summer. It’s not perfect, but the moment was. ☀️✨

This is the 4th song in the Talking to the Trees series, and it’s been so much fun working with Sasha on these tracks!

✨ I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been accepted into the Artist in Residence Program at Studio Kura in Fukuoka, Japan!
 🇯🇵 This residency is an amazing chance to immerse myself in Japan’s rural environment, soaking up the landscape and culture for inspiration. I’m also looking forward to connecting with a vibrant community of artists.
 This project will focus on the visual side of my work. Over the next few months, I’ll be collaborating with Sasha to complete our album “Talking to the Trees” (we’re on song 5!) and then May- July 2025 I’ll be in JAPANNNNNNNN!!!!

As the seasons slowly shift, today feels like summer’s gentle farewell. There’s something about this time of year that makes me reflect, almost like a second New Year’s in September.

This summer was full—visiting family in Winnipeg, riding horses, celebrating birthdays, recording on a rooftop as the sun set, and enjoying patio time with good friends. I probably drank too much, ate too much but it was all worth it. 🍻🍴

I didn’t capture as many photos as I would’ve liked (I always forget to snap a pic), but the ones I did take remind me how lucky I am to be surrounded by such incredible people—sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, dad, and friends who make life richer. ✨

🌿 Rebooting my body after a few weeks of indulgence. Why oh why are bad things so yummy? 😅

Took on the Grouse Grind to reset. You see all kinds of people on the trail—some crushing it, others barely making it (like meeee), but they are ALL DOING it.

It’s like music—it doesn’t matter where we are in the whole game or even if anyone likes what you do. What matters is that you are moving. 🎶💫

This album is a poetic exploration of our connection to nature, where every note honors the stories held by the silent witnesses – trees. 🌳 All the music was created using effects on my voice and violin.

🌟 Just returned from an incredible conference! 🌟 It’s always so refreshing to step out of my usual bubble and connect with like-minded creatives. 🎨✨

Usually, my posts focus on my music journey, but my design life is equally significant and deeply intertwined with my music. While the music industry often feels like a challenging space with limited opportunities, design offers a different landscape. It’s an industry where there are lots of viable opportunities and you can actually make a living. 🌍💡

This conference was full of vibrant energy and inspiring snippets of conversations with people from all over the world. From those just starting their journey to seasoned leaders managing big teams, every chat was a beautiful exchange of ideas and experiences. 🌟🗣️

So many creatives in this community are also artists with passion projects that are equally as important as design and I got to talk music. ALOT. I’m feeling so inspired and grateful for this vibrant community. It’s so juicy that now I just want to play some music and make pretty things! 💖

My sister sent me a little cartoon that said, “I’m not making any progress on my Bucket list” then the other gal said “change the B to an F and you’ll feel better about it.” Maybe it’s cheesy. Maybe Y’all have seen it before. But the F bomb always hits me hard right in my Gen X gut.

In the spirit of ‘fuckit,’ and honoring my beautiful sisters today I am posting all the selfies I looked at with doubt for a music application and am adding a few more things to my fuckit list…

Fuckit. I’m not gonna worry about my weight.
Fuckit. I’m not gonna care that I have a few lines on my face.
Fuckit. I’m not gonna feel like I’m too old to perform music.
Fuckit. I’m not gonna worry about what others think.
Fuckit. I’m not gonna stress over every little detail.
